Livermore— —Local elected Parks Director and optometrist Scott Kamena has announced the coveted endorsement of the California Professional Firefighters (CPF).

The CPF is the state council for the International Association of Firefighters, and its membership is exclusive to full-time, paid firefighters.

“We believe Scott has a clear understanding of the important issues affecting first responders,” said Lou Paulson, President of California Professional Firefighters. “We think he would be a strong voice for public safety in the Assembly.”

The CPF joins a growing list of public safety advocates including Alameda County Sheriff Charlie Plummer, former President of the California Police Chief’s Association Bill Eastman and Walnut Grove Fire Commissioner Mark Rogerson in supporting Scott Kamena for Assembly.

“As a husband and a father, I take public safety issues very seriously,” said Kamena. “In the State Assembly, I will fight to make sure that Firefighters and Police Officers have the tools they need to protect our neighborhoods and keep families safe.”

Dr. Scott Kamena is a small business owner in Livermore, the same town where he was born and raised. His optometry practice, Murrieta Optometry, has treated over 20,000 patients in the region. Scott and his wife Jennifer currently reside in Livermore where they are focused on raising their young daughter Audrey.
