Now Im totally in a pickle

I feel like I am kinda in Mr Mullen's shoes. I watched a video of Mr Baldwin talking about his evangelical roots and the people he associated with and it makes me cringe. In a comparison of party platforms, I am much more inclined to favor the Libertarian Party's. And yes, i know the candidate is not going to implement every single plank of the party platform - but they are bound to support the platform. And quite frankly, some of the CP s platform is questionable both from a historical point of view as well as pragmatically. Likewise, as much as I enjoy the LP's platform, I don't know if i would trust Barr enough to even attempt to implement any of it if he were successful.

And no, i am not skeered of a theocracy being implemented because frankly i dont think baldwin has the name recognition to win more than 10% of the vote, and thats counting a 9% swing from Paul's endorsement.

Anybody know Mr Baldwin's stance on the legalizaiton of marijuana for both medicinal reasons and recreational use by adults?? I did a quick search and didnt come up with solid info (from mr baldwin himself). I know the LP's stance on this issue and i support it; but i would be willing to vote for Baldwin if his stance were similar. If i cant vote for my preferred candidate, i might as well vote on an issue that is important to me. And right now, the Greens (who i won't be voting for because of other reasons) and the LP are both advocating what i want to hear.

He said medical marijuana should be a states issue

He didn't address the broader question of non-medical marijuana use.

I was directed to the following video of Chuck Baldwin talking about his belief in religious freedom and how he said that everyone has a right to belief what they want.

I'm glad he's on the record on this

He does seem like a decent fellow - he's said more than once that he is only running because Ron Paul isn't.

ON the other hand, McCain opened his acceptance speech talking about his belief in inalienable rights (although he then proceeded to promise to violate just about all of them).

I do think Baldwin is sincere about what he says here. HOwever, the company he's kept still makes me uncomfortable. I'm not sure how he can stand to hang around those people!

Thanks for sharing it, though. I will likely vote for this guy and it does make me feel better. Now I wish the Constitution Party would tone down the Bible thumping on their website - it would make this easier to swallow.

I have been thinking

THat Baldwin is the only answer. Make no mistake, though. I'd be holding my nose to vote for him (nothing personal). The Moral Majority/Christian Fundamentalist influence was the most distasteful aspect of the Republican party before this neo con thing raised the bar on distasteful so high.

Ron Paul is every bit as Christian as anyone from that crowd and would never think to allow his personal beliefs into political debate.

I'll probably hold my nose and vote for Baldwin. Let's hope he doesn't win and turn us into a Christian Iran :D

I sure hope so too..

I, like Chuck Baldwin and Ron Paul, am also a Christian, BUT not a conventional one (I like housechurches not 501c3's )
and Baldwin seems to like them too. He has said quite often that he is in favor of freedom of religion (or freedom to have no religion) and Ron Paul trusts him, so......DYOC

Yeah baby, YEAH!!

"I've thought about the unsolicited advice from the Libertarian Party candidate, and he has convinced me to reject my neutral stance in the November election. I'm supporting Chuck Baldwin, the Constitution Party candidate."

Thank you Dr. Paul!! Congratulations Dr. Baldwin!! :)
